The Internet
Users should be aware that the Library’s wireless network and the Internet are not secure; information sent to or from your laptop can be captured by anyone else with a wireless device and the appropriate software. It is commonly recommended that you have a virus checker and firewall when using Internet via a network. In addition, disabling file & printer sharing will also help reduce your risk.
St. Helens Public Library provides free Internet access for users with portable computers capable of receiving wireless signals. No passwords are required. The availability, uptime and throughput are not guaranteed but will be our best effort to provide the service.
The City of St. Helens and the St. Helens Public Library will be held harmless for any illegal activity or information access whether appropriate or inappropriate while accessing the Internet via St. Helens Public Library Wi-Fi. In the case of minors, this responsibility rests with their parents or legal guardian. In no case, does the display of any material on the Internet constitute an endorsement by the City or The St. Helens Public Library.
